From Australia, we're moving on to Malaysia - where things are about to get tough. For the second race of the 2011 season, the humid conditions will be quite a challenge for the drivers, and today will be their first chance of getting some track time.

Red Bull were super fast throughout the whole weekend in Melbourne, with McLaren close behind, and then Ferrari and Mercedes somewhat further back. There will be more updates to many of the cars and plenty to keep an eye on.

Formula One has returned and it is to Melbourne that we turn our attention for this first Free Practice session of the year. With brand new tyres to test out, no real knowledge of who is fast and who is slow, plus one team who have not managed to test their 2011 car at all, anything could happen over the next couple of days.

Free Practice 1 will begin at 3:00am GMT+1 and this post is for the dedicated amongst you who will be up to watch.

One to Watch

The team that needs more track time than anyone else is Hispania, so keep your eye on them and if they can make it out of the garage. Tonio Liuzzi seems to be the lead driver, as his car was prepared for first during the Melbourne weekend, so it will be interesting to see whether they can get some decent times on the board.
