The top five championship contenders take their place in the top five spots on the grid, and that means, the fight is on. Singapore doesn't always have the most exciting racing, but the concentration required plus the possibility for mistakes means it's bound to be a spectacle.

It looks as though all the sessions this weekend are destined to be dry, but that's okay. The damp conditions have been affecting the track anyway - as soon as the tarmac gets wet, it takes forever to dry out again, leaving plenty of slippery sections for drivers to navigate.

One to watch

Felipe Massa had a terrible qualifying session, out before it even started really, thanks to a gearbox problem. As he takes the last slot on the grid, Ferrari have decided to change his engine. This is his ninth engine, so he would take the ten place drop, but going any further back from last would be quite impressive.

I'm expecting to have a very complicated race, especially as we are at a track where overtaking is very difficult, but it's true that anything can always happen: rain, safety car, who knows! I am very disappointed of course because today we had a very competitive car, as Fernando proved. I like this track but it seems that it does not bring me much luck...

- Felipe Massa

It will be fascinating to see how far up the order he can make it in the time available.

Predictions please

Who will win the race? Can Alonso turn his pole position into a win? Will anyone drop out of the championship battle this weekend? How far can Massa make it through the field? Let's have a vote on that one.
