We all know that this is a pretty crucial race of the season, with five drivers hoping to do well and dreading their title chances if they don't. Qualifying has never been more important, and with the unknown variables such as the weather and new/returning drivers, it's going to be tricky.

The forecast still suggests heavy rain, and if that hits during qualifying then it's going to be a pretty interesting session. The slippery and bumpy nature of the circuit is hard enough when they're just running over it normally, throw in a bucketload of rain and who knows what's going to happen?

One to watch

Fernando Alonso had a bit of an issue yesterday, when he ran off track and then stalled the Ferrari, cutting at least 20 minutes of running off his programme. However, he's not too worried about it, saying:

This can happen on a Friday, when you try a lot of things, some of them even aimed at next season. Our individual sector times don't seem too bad, in fact you could say they were quite competitive, when compared to our main rivals.

- Fernando Alonso

It must be quite tricky to be Alonso in Singapore, as there is no way you can't think of the 2008 race, but perhaps he can make amends by doing it right this time.

Predictions please

Will there be any surprise drop outs in Q1? Will anyone crash? How far up the table can Hulkenberg get, considering he has to take a penalty afterwards? And of course, who is going to get pole position? Let's have a poll.
