Singapore 2009 - Free Practice 1 - The night race is back and it's first practice for teams and drivers

Published by Christine

I'm not sure there has been a more overshadowed race this year, because even if you put the Renault hearing behind us, there is still the matter of a Piquet Corner reminder for 60-odd laps. Still, Free Practice is on, and we're ready.

Weather update

The forecasts still have rain and thunderstorms throughout the whole weekend. Even if it isn't actually raining during a session, the conditions will be tricky, and the track will be forever green.

One to watch

It could be anyone, but I suppose it will be worth keeping an eye on Grosjean, if he is well enough to get in the car. The poor lad will need lots of cheering on if he's not feeling too good. Otherwise it'll be di Grassi, and he also deserves a cheer.

Predictions please

Which cars will suit the Singapore street circuit? Will Hamilton be fast enough for another victory? Will Red Bull suffer any tram-related issues? Will everyone make it round Piquet corner safely and without laughing?
