Monaco 2010 - The race // Alonso fights to make his way from the back of the field in the principality

Published by Christine

Here we are then, race day is finally upon us, and Webber is in the prime position. Whether the racing is any good or not, we're all in agreement that Monaco is a sight to behold. So, let's get on with it!

Weather update

The detailed forecasts suggest that it will remain sunny throughout the race, although there might be some rain creeping in this evening. It will be too late by then, of course, but considering the drivers are worried about traffic already, perhaps dry conditions will be better.

One to watch

I'm going to have to say Alonso again, as he took no part in qualifying and starts right at the back of the grid. Monaco isn't good for overtaking, but Alonso can be fiesty when he's got a point to prove, so keep your eyes on him.

Predictions please

Who will be the first to crash into the barriers? Will the weather hold off throughout? Will Webber make it to the chequered flag in first place? Where will Alonso finish?
