Monaco 2010 - Qualifying - Who can take the all-important pole position in Monte Carlo?

Published by Christine

The most important session of the weekend is here - and it is even more so at Monaco. No one would argue that it's almost impossible to create overtaking opportunities round the tight circuit, so where you qualify on a weekend will mean so much to your race.

Weather update

The forecasts have changed completely from when I checked earlier in the week, and now there is sunshine for the next few days. Lovely, lovely sunshine. Maybe. We were hoping for a wet race, but nevertheless, qualifying is first, and it should be sunny.

One to watch

Fernando Alonso, who may or may not be ready to qualify after crashing his car heavily in Free Practice 3. All the mechanics had their head in their hands as they watched Alonso's car slip into the barriers. Fingers crossed they get it ready in time.

Predictions please

Who will take the glory of Monaco pole position? Will it be a Red Bull lock out? Will the weather affect things at all? Will anyone else meet the barriers in less than ideal circumstances?
