Malaysia 2009 - The race // The weather could play its part in Sepang today

Published by Christine

Race day dawns, and it could be our first wet race of the season. Yet again we've got a mixed up grid, but can Button make it two in a row?

Weather update

Journeyer is our man on the ground this weekend, and gave us an early update: "Glorious sunshine... sun rising very nicely. But when it rains here, it's like a storm hit town." I guess we will know more nearer the time, although who has faith in the FIA's ability to predict the weather?

One to watch

Felipe Massa is the one to watch today. He's starting from almost the back of the grid, and has KERS bolted into his car. He's got a shedload of fuel but should still be able to make some progress in the first few laps. It's always fun to watch a car make it's way through the field, assuming he can hold off from spinning it.

Predictions please

Of course the main prediction is whether Button will win from pole again, but there are other things we need to know. Will there be a first lap incident? Just what lap is Vettel going to come in on? What position will Massa be able to make it to? When will the rain come? How many times will we see the safety car? The questions just keep on coming.
