Great Britain 2010 - The race - Jenson Button has a lot of work to do to impress the home crowds

Published by Christine

No team could come close to the Red Bull pace yesterday, so you would have to put your money on them for the win today at Silverstone - if their reliability holds up. McLaren have mixed fortunes going into the race, but it's likely Hamilton is the only one who can challenge for the win, alongside Alonso.

Weather update

It looks like the sun is still out at the moment but there are clouds in the sky, and earlier Shaun (who lives quite near to the circuit) reported a brief sighting of rain. I don't believe it will rain for the race, but anything could happen.

One to watch

Today I think we should keep an eye on Jenson Button. He qualified badly - Silverstone clearly doesn't agree with him - but he'll want to do well in front of the home crowd. We know JB can overtake, so he might put on a good show.

Predictions please

Will Red Bull take the win, and maybe even a 1-2? Will we see anyone struggling with the new section of track? Will it stay dry? Who will be the first to retire?
