So far this weekend, the weather has affected running - if not directly, then by leaving Hockenheim with a wet track. This morning's practice saw most of the setup action crammed into the second half of the session, so qualifying could be tricky. Have the drivers had time to prepare as they normally would?

Weather update

rain

Hockenheim, Germany, Saturday

20℃

  • Low 17℃
  • Humidity 70%

Heavy rain showers

There is plenty more rain predicted over the next few hours, with things drying up towards the end of the day. We've seen lots of spins and crashes already this weekend, so what will happen when they start pushing for fast times without the grip underneath them?

One to watch

The Virgin team have been building up their rivalry with Lotus again, as Glock has suggested their competition might need to keep an eye on them as they move forward with updates and catch up to the pack. Their Saturday didn't get off to the best start, though, as this tweet details.

Looks like Timo may need a gearbox change, Lucas has an electrical problem but both cars will be fine for Qualifying

Fingers crossed.

Predictions please

Who will get the all-important pole position? Will it be a Red Bull walkover or can Alonso regain some of his momentum from yesterday? Will the weather hamper some qualifying strategies? Will anyone be knocked out earlier than expected?
