F1 teams and their drivers get that Friday morning feeling, as it's time to squeeze in 90 minutes of track action in Germany. That is assuming the weather holds long enough for anyone to take to the track.

Heavy showers

It's raining this morning in Hockenheim, with intermittent showers set to continue for the rest of the day. Lotus Racing are predicting a break in the weather 25-30 minutes into this session, but with local conditions expected to improve by Sunday, we may see today's running heavily restricted.

One to watch

Pick a home driver, any home driver. There are plenty to choose from this weekend. Timo Glock lives just around the corner and Virgin Racing have brought a raft of improvements, speaking before the weekend Timo was full of confidence:

It goes without saying that I aim to achieve the best result possible and with the progress we have made in terms of the mechanical and aero upgrades to the car over the last two races I am feeling optimistic.

- Timo Glock

Predictions please

With treacherous track conditions out there, who'll be the first to give their mechanics a headache by sending the car into the barriers? Will it be a home hero keen to get closer to local fans?
