Australia 2010 - Free Practice 3 - Weather watch is the top concern as Saturday dawns

Published by Christine

It was a quiet day yesterday, with the first session only half-utilised by teams and drivers, and the second session hampered by rain. For Free Practice 3, they will have to make the most of the track time available to prepare for qualifying.

Weather update

Saturday appears to hold in store more of the rain that we saw on Friday afternoon. The weather forecasts suggest light rain, grey clouds, or sunny intervals throughout the day, so it will be interesting to see at what point the weather hits proceedings.

One to watch

I'd like to keep an eye on both Renault drivers for this session, as Kubica finished on top in FP1, and Petrov wasn't that far down for FP2. It was a bit of a surprise to see them both so far up, as Renault haven't seemed to have enormous amounts of pace recently. Could that be about to change?

Predictions please

Who will finish on top in FP3? Will there be any red flags? Will the rain get in the way of the running? Will Chandhok make it out of the garage? Will Virgin have any more luck? Will Hamilton be shaken up by his off-track activities?
