Here we go then, the final race weekend gets underway with two Free Practice sessions - the first of which starts any minute now. The paddock has descended upon Abu Dhabi, and as Nick's post showed us - the circuit looks clean and tidy. It remains to be seen what the racing will be like.

Weather update

Sunny

There are showers due to be in the area throughout Friday, but as the forecasts become closer to reality, it looks like the precipitation is moving further towards Saturday. The race itself is supposed to be dry, so teams could really do with all the dry running they can get - particularly as this circuit is relatively new to everyone.

One to watch

Lewis Hamilton will be a driver to keep an eye on this weekend, as he has it all to gain and nothing to lose. Remaining just in contention for the championship, he already knows his team won't get the constructors, so it's all about a win for him, and little else. He knows the odds are against him, and that just means the pressure is off.

I will be flat-out. They generally have faster cars than me but that doesn't mean we cannot fight for the win. We have to win and that is what I plan to do. It will be less disappointing for me because I am so far back. We have had an interesting year. I'm happy to be here still fighting for the championship with still a relatively small chance.

- Lewis Hamilton

Predictions please

Who will be first out on track for this final FP1 session of the year? Will anyone crash out? Will the commentators be able to talk about anyone else but Red Bull? Will anyone be surprisingly fast, and conversely, will anyone be surprisingly slow?
