Yesterday couldn't really have gotten off to a more chaotic start, so if the practice sessions are anything to go by, there may be fireworks in qualifying as well. We've already seen engine failures, barrier crashes, plus a near-miss in the pit lane as well. The weather looks set to be dry, although there's a slight possibility of rain. However, the only real conditions to contend with are the grip on the track, and how the tyres deal with the new surface.

The session gets underway at 9:30am GMT+1 with the Factbyte Factbox providing all the build up from 9am.

Both Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Pérez face three place grid penalties from wherever they qualify today after ignoring yellow flags in free practice. They'll be two drivers to keep an eye on, particularly as both are caught up in championship battles. Hamilton wants to keep tabs on his teammate Button, and is aware the McLaren doesn't seem as fast here as it has in previous weeks. Sauber driver Pérez is in a fight against Force India and needs to start working on picking up some points to do the best for his team.
