The past couple of F1 races haven't been on a par with the excellence of the 2017 season, but don't let that get you down. There's still some fantastic writing, talking, and video making on the web covering all sorts of motorsports. Formula One is meant to be the pinnacle of motorsport and is up there only with the Olympics and the Football World Cup in terms of both global spectacle and global audience – at least that’s how the sport has tended to market itself. But the audience share has declined in recent years, and while the trend did stop in 2016, the fact remains the TV audience has dropped by a third since 2008, from around 600 million to 400 million.
The FIA, along with nine partners, is proud to announce it has been selected to receive EU funding through the Erasmus+ programme, enabling its Women in Motorsport Commission to implement a competition model for the promotion and development of young women in motor sport at grassroots level. The FIA European Young Women Programme will also contribute to the advancement of the FIA’s educational and social roles.

There are arguments that that the Halo is a knee jerk reaction, a hasty response to legal responsibility if another life-threatening accident did occur. Some feel it’s been rushed through too quickly and without rigorous enough testing and that it really isn’t the best solution to the problem.
