There's no better time to debut a new show than as the Formula One season draws to a conclusion. With that in mind, Sidepodcast brings a new radio show, one hour of chatter provisionally titled Radio Active F1 (or Radio Christine, which is also a good name!)
With interactivity baked in from the outset, the show features a mixture of news and features, reviews and quiz questions, plus a not-so-breaking news section with a live F1Minute. All that and much more, live and then replayable for all eternity.

that was exhausting! but much fun.
I'm away, so I'll have to catch up in bits. Sounds like a great idea though :-)
come back!!
...i mean, in your own time, whenever you get the chance, no rush or anything ;)
This is what I missed over the night? Boo. :(
First link is broken, BTW. ;)
Oh, and for a show that doesn't have Mr C in it, I find it hilarious that I hear his laugh within the first minute!
@3:54: Super-grand chelem maybe? But I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Schumacher's already done it. ;)
Is it just me, or is there someone talking in the background during the Vettel feature?
I have not listened yet, but would remind you that the title has been used before on BBC radio, quite a few years ago, in a very funny series. Anna Daptor, Mike Flex, Mike Channel, etc spring immediately to mind.
They did a show about F1?
Fixed the link. Looking at the audio now.
heh. there's a lesson there about always prooflistening to shows before release :)
#overworked
audio should be fixed. conversation was us discussing who should handle the factbytfactbox links. apologies.
My own personal theory, Perez is actually ill and everything, but after seeing Guti not being super quick in his first practice session, the team told him to man up and get some points to catch up to Merc.
I can not believe that work has me missing this segment yesterday.
Mr. C's "Hit, Miss, or maybe"..... on the Red Bull app. "it's a hit, as it was free. it does not work, but it is still a hit as it is free"....
noooooooo. one bit of it is "flaky" i think i said. but it's mostly great... and free.
ha. guilty conscience is something i hadn't considered.
I remember Radio Active. It was my first thought at hearing of the new show :)
BTW, have listened and it's fun. Though there's a lot of Mr C considering it's not his show.
Radio Goodies....boom.
(Sorry kept flashing back)
Are you still looking for suggestions to rename "A Quick Look Around the Blogosphere"? Here are mine (I haven't checked to see if any are in use or trademarked, probably no danger of that):
- F1 Blogolog (or Blogologue, depending on one's proclivities), Blogology, Blogometer, Blogospherometer (these last three are kind of obvious, dull even?)
- Spongeblog Spare Parts (maybe the name of the host of the segment?; "Spongeblog" does permit a tagline like: "Absorbing news and views from the blogosphere" or "Helping you soak up the week that was"; would the "SpongeBob" cartoon people mind? Their lawyers might...)
- Bloggy Bits
- Blogical Thoughts/Blogical Thinking (or F1 Blogic, Blogical Arguments, Blogical Conclusions - whatever, a play on "logic")
- F1 'Spheroids (my favourite)
- Blogarrhoea (think "The Blog Area, loosely speaking"; even worse: "My Blogarrhea is full of 'spheroids").
Hehehe, Spongeblog :)
never heard of that. there is also radio active from radio kick - tunein.com/radio/…oKickcom-s139756/
♥
too much! with any luck, soon other people can do the bits i'm doing. christine is faced with a significant lack of hardware right now. with better equipment, she can do many more exciting things. ...hopefully.
I think it should be something totally unpronounceable. It's always good fun hearing Christine have to say names like BadgerGP.
Now what ridiculous acronym can I think of...
you will never beat rubber baby buggy bumpers ;)

Of course. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to listen as the SPC team try to reel off all the obscure names in the Fantasy League.
I know Christine thought about using her own name. So maybe as an anagram - Radio "Hi Cretins". :)
My favourite possible name for the blog-segment would have to be BlogBusters, and it already lends itself to its own theme tune / music bed. :D
... Or you could always go for F1 Pa-Blog Monitor. (For those who've found that a somewhat forced play on Juan Pablo Montoya, it could be tuned down as required.) ;)
hehe! we have to do f1 blockbusters at some point.
gold medal run, just for bernie?
This is the point where I'd usually jump to it and get onto it, but as trivia is not my area, I might have to not.
Now, Blockbusters style questions I could probably manage to come up with!
Do another of these! (please)
