Comments for Heikki grins and bears it on Christine's Rankings this week

In which Kovalainen breaks the points haul record

Published by Christine Blachford

It was a jam packed weekend in Spa, and there was plenty to be picked up on for the rankings this week. We've also got a few things from the past that are being dragged up for points - things that we either missed first time round, or had forgotten about. Let's get right on with the scores for this fabulous week in F1.

  • RG 30/08/2010 at 19:01:36

Is Heikki making it his personal mission on dominating every championship/rankings that isn't the main championship?

  • Steven Roy 30/08/2010 at 19:02:06

A lot of points for Heikki. Amy will be pleased. But surely it was bear watching not bear hunting.

  • Christine 30/08/2010 at 19:03:06

Ooh, yes. I meant hunting as in hunting high and low, as opposed to try and eat them. I might change that though!

catherine called it a "bear hunt".

  • Steven Roy 30/08/2010 at 19:04:44

Unfair. Virgin drivers get points for being entertaining for a couple of minutes and Karun gets none for being brilliant for all of free practise

He has already had points for being excellent on 5live.

Bear hunting to me suggests shooting not watching baby bears playing and trying to sneak out the back door without being eaten

Getting points out of you is difficult

Looks like Karun is going to have to go panda wrestling if he wants to win :D

  • LookingSpiffy 30/08/2010 at 19:11:56

Yeah, Heikki pretty much blitzed everyone for me this week. Impressed that he's a competent drummer and utterly delighted that he can play For Whom the Bell Tolls!

  • Alison 30/08/2010 at 19:12:48

Oh my word. Not that stupid milk advert again!? Am I in a parallel universe where we haven't all had to endure that before??

  • me 30/08/2010 at 19:12:56

amazing drumming! i said earlier in the week he had no rhythm, but that's one tough song to play on any instrument. legend.

    Yes we have...

It's like an awful Groundhog Day event...

christine doesn't do crying. i woulda given him 10 pts.

  • me 30/08/2010 at 19:42:30

i do wonder what red bull marketing make of webber doing an ad for what is technically a rival soft drink?

  • Bridget 31/08/2010 at 08:01:16

OMG, that advert was cringe-worthy! If he feels the need to start a boy-band with JB, they should be sternly discouraged!

In other news, they need to make a Heikki action figure. The man is just too awesome (and wouldn't you like to carry a tiny Heikki who shouts "Perkele" around with you?)

  • Red Dog 31/08/2010 at 18:51:11

Just how awesome is that Heikki paying with Nightwish my equal favourite band he just now has to play with Sigur Ros. Love the graphical aspects of the design of Heikki's website too. When are you guys going to re-review websites of drivers and teams?

Webber should have lost a lot more for that horrific milk ad - yikes that was BAAAADDDDDD!

  • me 31/08/2010 at 18:52:43

When are you guys going to re-review websites of drivers and teams

err, i think we started and no-one commented, so we dropped it.

  • Red Dog 31/08/2010 at 18:57:17

What about a challenge like the driver one but reflecting their websites to see who has the best website, or you could do it for teams.

oh dear I think a little Italian design is required. Seriously many Italian websites have gorgeous designs.

  • Maverick 31/08/2010 at 19:17:25

yes but where will the F1 site be next week?

it has been at that address all season.

  • Lady Snowcat 31/08/2010 at 19:19:12

Go to the address I gave and then navigate from there... that always works...

You can even have it in Japanese!....

  • Maverick 31/08/2010 at 19:19:32

it has been at that address all season.

I've changed the book mark at least half a dozen times since testing

  • Maverick 31/08/2010 at 19:19:57

exactly - but why do you have to do that?

Hmm has worked for me, and it is the link on InsideFerrari's profile.

  • Lady Snowcat 31/08/2010 at 19:22:16

exactly - but why do you have to do that?

    Just don't bother going there...

    I don't these days...

  • Red Dog 31/08/2010 at 19:23:08

Just want I want a Ferrari F1 site in Japanese!

  • Lady Snowcat 31/08/2010 at 19:23:41

    I am impressed...

  • Maverick 31/08/2010 at 19:24:28

Oh yeah. That's what I did.

  • Red Dog 31/08/2010 at 19:30:29

You don't get sarcasm? but the idea of Ferrari F1 site being in Japanese is humourous - NOW I would be impressed if they had it in Faroese.

castrol rankings - ranking the worlds worst driving?

it is beyond loopy. i'm amazed they've persisted. a while back someone said we were being harsh and to give it time. does half a season count as enough time? cause it's still as rubbish as the day they started it.

  • Becken 01/09/2010 at 20:18:06

Well, you guys sensed that since they started the rankings, but I´m very brave and tried to undestand their formula and... What a mess:

At least — we have to admit — the smart guys from Autosport found a new way of how to stole some money from Castrol.

if they could just stop writing their silly posts about it, i could ignore the whole concept completely. the 'stories' keep appearing in my feed though. grr.

  • habibif1 02/09/2010 at 05:44:46

Schumi is getting dangerously close to a positive score. SCARY!! ;)

  • Alex Andronov 02/09/2010 at 07:23:38

Catherine, when she says, "we're going on a bear hunt" is... to my ear... making reference to the children's story called "we're going on a bear hunt" :)

The children's story involves searching for a bear but then once we find the bear having to run away from it because it is scary.

His signature was disappointing? Like it was a squiggle? Or he was disappointing? Or having an autograph was disappointing?

  • Christine 02/09/2010 at 09:04:24

All of the above, although I don't remember if he was disappointing or not. I can't remember what he was doing.
