There are difficult kicks as well. If the team fail to get ten yards after 3 downs they either punt the ball if they are far enough back or if they are close enough kick a 3 point field goal (FG). So they can find themselves kicking over 50 yards with a lot of pressure on them

They tend to be bigger guys so they can block also, unlike the Wide Receivers who are the ones who run really far downfield and catch passes.
