We're trialling a new concept today, the Sidepodcast Hangout, where you can come and chat about F1 and more. Our first hangout appears on an off-race weekend and will be live for exactly three hours. The F1 calendar seems to be taking an odd shape this year, with bursts of action interrupted by lengthy breaks. This time we have the introduction of mid-season testing to whet our motorsport appetites, but what else are you doing to fill the gap? Holidays, much needed time with the family, catching up with other sports, or spending time chatting with likeminded fans on the web?
Well, today I am mostly hiding from the appalling weather!

janna actually came up with a great description a few years back. that sidepodcast was like a pub where different groups of people hang out and discuss various (often overlapping) subjects. that analogy fell down because back then the sidepodcast public house never closed of an evening. now it actually holds true.
now we just need name for the bar.

well we get to London Monday night, the Olympics start on the Friday, at some stage I need to collect my tickets and I was hoping to go see the torch relay on Thursday but for some reason they haven't announced the route for that day yet grrrr.

I've been reading the list of shops in the train station across from our German hotel and giggling at far too many words.
That's the read only one, right?
Nothing has changed that much really. The page threads are the same as they used to be, comments reading down the page. Dashboard is the same, pick your thread in the drop down. Only change is that comments come in at the top now. The /comments page is (or will be) the same as realtime was.

on the pc, you can drag the lower right hand corner to expand. it's not supported on phone browsers yet though. give em time.

in summary we've spent the last 4 months making the site usable on mobile devices. but those devices just are not as good as desktop equivalents. we've made it as good as we can right now.
movable boxes are missing from the dashboard on desktop, i think that is the only thing we have intentionally removed during the changes and we did that because there's a more efficient way of doing things (but we're waiting for chrome and opera to release updates).
everything else became technically obsolete (realtime) or is the same.

Wow. That's just.. wow. Heard lots of bad stories of housemates from people but that's insane.
My male house mate would have almost certainly killed himself by now. in the first week he had a pan fire because he left honey and oil in a pan :/ his response was to put his head in his hands, while me and the girls put the fire out, and turned the alarm off.
I would share stories of my flatmate, but I frequently devote my Twitter feed to that. All I'll say is that private education doesn't teach people common sense or manners.

one of my flatmates has been driven to move out by my other flatmate. shes taking her time though, i want her to hurry up because i'm taking her room. I snuck in with a tape measure the other day and worked out where I'm putting my furniture :D
