The Spanish Grand Prix offered up plenty of opportunity for points, but none more so than seeing how the paddock responded to the Williams fire. If we still had team rankings, there would be bucketloads being handed out, but the drivers did the best they could too. Pastor Maldonado, race winner, picks up the most in one go this week, after the now infamous piggy back. In other news this week, we finally get to see the results of Vettel's Kung Fu movie, whilst Fernando has a hot beverage.
This week things have been pretty quiet - I've noticed a lot of drivers doing a lot of training, and they tend to all do it in beautiful locations. Very unfair when we have been deluged by bad weather all week. Nevertheless, there are points available for phone trouble, garden maintenance, promos aplenty and advice from the family.
After the tense atmosphere preceding Bahrain, it's been all about relaxing as the drivers enter another three week break. There's some testing to be done, of course, but they still have time to go visiting other motorsports, playing with man's best friend, and visiting DJ's from the past. There's a challenge to be issued, after a disastrous athletics event plus some points for drivers taking the side of the fans.
This week has been a difficult one for Formula One, but away from the track there are still plenty of adventures to be had and points to be earned. Musical associations gain points, albeit on behalf of Mr C. Two TV segments that I've finally found from China get airtime and rankings points. Most of all, this week is about turning the tables - whether it is on your physio, via photograph, or on F1 journalists.
It's all about the art this week. I know that a certain chap called Nico Rosberg won a race, and we do see a video from him further down the list, but I'm more interested in the portraits happening up and down the paddock. First Pastor Maldonado tweeted pictures of himself and Bruno Senna, in what I can only assume were self-portraits. Then Daniel Ricciardo draw a quick sketch of his teammate Jean-Éric Vergne and got the poor chap to pose next to it as well! I approve of the new creative direction the drivers have taken, and want more of the same next week.
A relatively quiet week in the world of F1 drivers, as the sport continues the three week break ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix. Things will likely be gearing up as the travelling begins, but even so, there's plenty to behold this week. We've got life imitating art, workouts aplenty, barbecues in the sunshine, and some questionable attire for feet.
After two frantic weeks of racing in Australia and Malaysia, we now have an oddly placed three week break before the action resumes in China. In the meantime, it is up to the drivers to provide plenty of entertainment on the internet, and so far, so good. We've got another driver joining Twitter, with Felipe Massa making his social networking debut. There's also charity work and plenty of training and holidaying to be seen on this week in Christine's Rankings.
It's been another great weekend of racing, and the drivers have managed to be entertaining in their own way - giving me lots of great opportunities to rank them for both good and bad behaviour. This week, we're looking at etiquette when restaurants and technology collide, impromptu musical education, some sweet boyfriend behaviour, and, of course, that conversation with tyres. All that and more in this week's Christine's Rankings.
The first race weekend of 2012 is complete, and we've got a nice round of points to hand out for the drivers for their antics over the weekend. Never mind that racing business, what else did they get up to? This week, we've had on the ground reporting from fans at the Albert Park track, so points for signing, for chatting with fans, and for generally connecting with the crowds. We've also got points for new websites, and social networking, plus points off for being a bit stroppy. Oh, and Michael Schumacher pulls a funny face.
It's been another big week of rankings, as the drivers make their last minute preparations for the 2012 season. Most are in Melbourne, or are on their way, and there has been talk of flights, of food, and of acclimatising to the surroundings. We've got a new member of Twitter, with Fernando Alonso making his debut on the microblogging tool, whilst Kimi Räikkönen appeared on Top Gear and proved himself to be more than just the monosyllabic Iceman we know. Also on TV this week, Lewis Hamilton made a few appearances in his brother's documentary, and it was great to see him helping Nic out when analysing some footage. Roll on next week when we'll have seen our guys out on track for the first race of the year.
