With both Goodwood and Wimbledon over and done with, it's time to regroup and turn our attention back to Formula 1. Sadly, there is little going on at the moment, but things should be ramping up towards the German Grand Prix as the week progresses. Meanwhile, here are some things we're talking about (and it's all self promotion today):
- We're in the midst of my latest mini series now, with five episodes under our belts. Yesterday's episode focused on the process of how an accident is dealt with, including notes on the Safety Car and on the different types of flags.
- We also spent some time yesterday rehearsing things and improving some of the technology we use to produce live shows. We went live for some of the process, and it can be replayed here, but don't panic, there is nothing major in there if you missed it. If you've got a spare two hours, though, feel free to listen to us muddle our way through.
- During yesterday's show, to pass some of the time, we came up with a game where you simply have to sum up each driver in three words. A good example from Steven about Vettel: "Ain’t no Schumi." And I came up with "Dangerous Whilst Pitting" for Nakajima. Have a think and see what you can come up with you.

this is quite embarrassing. the ankle bit of my trousers has some kind of elastic ring around it, which is now caught in the wheel bearing of my office chair. and it's proper tangled.
now it is a nice chair but i'm not that attached to it.
am gonna have to cut myself free. but the scissors are the other side of the room. should i call for assistance and have to explain the ridiculous situation, or subtly try and wheel myself over there and hope no-one questions it?

Have played similar, I must admit enjoyed it, shall have a small look.
Had first race tonight was good to see it live. Started 14 of 15 got upto 5th only had 4 pit crew because i hadn't hired anyone extra so it took 50 seconds to do a pit stop. It all went downhill after that.
I did! I nearly walked into him then realised that there was only one man with a chin that huge. Then I noticed sandra bullock behind him too which was a bit wierd.
Sandra Bullock's husband was driving a Baja truck at Goodwood. His name is Jesse James something or other and is descended from Jesse James the outlaw.

Well originally it was all to do with Renault looking likely to pull out of F1 and leaving Red Bull with little option. At the time (back in April), KERS looked to be mandatory for 2010 and Mercedes seems to have produced the best recovery system on the grid at the moment.
But things have changed since the news first picked up momentum. I doubt Renault are going to pull the plug on F1 so the only thing I can see benefiting Mercedes is a tie-in with Vettel. There's probably a technical advantage as well, but from what I can gather, the Renault engine's fuel comsumption is the lowest of all the engines at the moment - so good for next season's fuel ban?

Monster gave me the shakes. I think in the same quantity as Red Bull it would be fine but the 500ml is too much for me - it does taste a lot nicer than RB.

In the extremely unlikely event that you are still stuck to the chair (and haven't, for instance, loaded it and yourself onto a lorry to go home) I'd kneel down, trace the path of the elastic ring and lift whichever corner of the chair is causing the problem. Use leverage if necessary and if queried, claim the chair is faulty.
In the more likely event that you have solved the problem a very long time ago, feel free to laugh.
I think Relentless was last year.
Relentless, I've found, is Red Bull with a slightly fruity twist. Plus it's in a bigger quantity than the biggest RB and even then still cheaper.
They handed something out at the end of the speedway. Rockstar, that it. Watch out for them.
Powerade and Gatorade work well for me... or squash for general refreshment. Then there's the obvious tea, or coffee for driving.
I've seen the in car footage of Mrs C being outside, and she comments from work. But I'm starting to suspect the Mr C goes out as well! First I find out that he has a car, and then that he may work in an office with other people.

Not according to the speed trap information - the Force Indias and Mercedes are routinely among the fastest in the speed traps despite neither having the best chassis going (the Brawns less so, presumably because it has a chassis that works correctly).

There was a really cute occurance at the Brawn GP garage on Sunday where they had a young 4 or 5 year old child basically shining the car up all purty with a cloth, he seemed to be really enjoying it. Start them young, it seems :P

See, I had something else with Brabham. He spent ages with fans on Friday, seemed really chatty, and at the end of the day spent a while chatting to a disabled woman, went into the drivers club, came out the exit round the back and spent some time chatting to her personally out of the fenced area. He seemed a really, really ncie bloke!

that's Brawn's excuse, but it was down in the program as the brawn going up the hill. i wonder if they didn't want to risk any damage to the gear box or anything? seeing as honda got through about 3 gearboxes last Goodwood. Maybe they didn't want to risk it cause of money?
I'm just going by what the crew told me at the garage when I asked them about what model it was, if it were just a display car or whatever.

it was more of a - pass through gates talking to mum, then seeing the flash of Jenson's helmet as he stopped at the start line, and then sprinting over to the fence scrambling around in my bag for a camera. I'm so pleased i beat the guy beside me to the last spot by the fence :D

Where were you then? I was at the start line because I'd just arrived through the entrance down there - got my ticket just as the Arrows turned up, and then the bikes and F1 cars arrived! I'll never understand why 4 or 5 F1 cars were batched with 10+ classic motorbikes.

as i said yesterday i've never actually been totally unable to say anything before. it was like i lost the ability to think or even speak. i just smiled... then i spotted Jenson's physio, Mike Collier, and 'team Jenson' looking at me as i walked away and i just burst into giggles.

Was hanging around Autosport International after it had closed one day *advantages of working the event* and admiring the classic grand prix cars on display - I was actually sat in front of the Lotus 72D Chassis R5 *it was on a podium so I was actually level with the nose* when someone just started chatting to me about how beautiful and revolutionary the car was... It was Gordon! 8O
Spent a good 20 minutes talking about various F1 car designs and the future of F1 - his vision was interesting to say the least. Imagine scaled down Le Mans LMP1 coupe's with 750cc to 1litre turbo engines producing around 800bhp, slicks and ground effect. :D
Superb bloke. It does help that he has said in the past "If you were to cut me, I'd bleed Lotus" ;)
Oh at everything. The whole thing was just amazing. The poking, lou's squealing, stuff occuring from this meeting with John Button, it was just one of those moment you don't forget
oh random fact for anyone while we are on the subject of the Button family, in an interview yesterday Jenson said that he entered a triathlon the other day under the name of 'Jason Briton'

Small engines for maximum efficiency. He was even suggesting that 4 pots could be used but that V6's would be likely.
The Coupe's for maximum aero efficiency and survivability - You'd be looking at 200mph + up Eau Rouge! Look at Villeneuve and Zonta for what can go wrong there

Only one I'd be interested in is the second one. Most interesting history - 14 races and a podium in the hands of a former world champion.
