The penultimate episode of Sidepodpanel sees Dan Brunell take the helm and lead our intrepid panellists (including new boy Chris) through such subjects as Bernie' job and the qualifying changes.
Joining us on tonight's panel:
With just one more episode to go in this series of Sidepodpanel, make sure to head over to the wiki and register your intent to take part. We're facing Skype issues by the million, but it all turns out right in the end, and we'll make sure the final show is the best of the lot.

I am never impersonating Jeremy Clarkson again! :D Good show though, and thanks to Dan for leading the way. Well, up until the final question anyway! ;)
that was my favourite bit :)
I can't believe i even did that :( sooo embarrassing.
Did it end up all.
POWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Ah me, any news on the christmas/new year possible show?
Don't worry Ollie. No one will ever know.

Oops.
haha!
At the moment, we have no firm plans for the future of Sidepodpanel. It will return but can't promise when and where.
We've really got some end of season things to be doing beforehand. That's the best I can do at the moment, sorry.
Only because you didn't have to do it.
I wasn't bothered about being embarrassed I just couldn't think of what to say or do.
Reet cheers for the info.
.....in the world
:D
:D
Oh I am so getting you back for that one! :P
Too funny. Too funny. :D
I'm sure I've posted this before, but as Jeremy would say - who cares?

I knew there was a lot of editing to be done but it looks like an hour and a half has been edited out. That is a lot of work.
The podpanel isn't showing in iTunes yet :s
mine is?
tis ok for me.
i think christine's toughest job is balancing the audio.
more people equals more balancing. she must like a challenge.
I still can't see the panel show in iTunes :(
ok, you're going to have to give me more info. because it really is there.
am guessing you're refreshing your feeds, but it still says "episode 84"?
That's correct - Episode 84 is the most recent one for me.
Ok, sorry - I hit "refresh" on the library podcasts page and it has started downloading. I was going to the iTunes store and looking for it there/refreshing/restarting iTunes.
ahh, right. yeah, i think the itunes store updates every 12 hours or something? we can "ping" it to make it update faster, but as it's a manual thing we never bother.
I didn't know that (and I should considering where I work).
erm... if you've told us already, i forgot?
I haven't told you yet...
how exciting. if you work for apple, that would be quite embarrassing.
It would be wouldn't it? ;)
totally :)
can i just say, dan you did a brilliant job hosting that show and i hope you'll sign up again for series 2 :)
Its' a deal. I actually sounded better than I thought. I was afraid with the quality of Skype, that it would sound a lot worse. The old film adage holds true, behind every brilliant director is an equally brilliant editor.
Also, I can't do next weeks' show because of the Thanksgiving Holiday over here. However to be fair to Steve Roy, I will answer his "killer question" somehow since I really did do a number on that panel with that last one.
Thanks again guys for another brilliant and fun episode... I look forward to hearing it on the train home tonight :-)
What a great episode! I'll have to do it again sometime (Maybe this week, depends on time). Sorry if I sounded like a gibbering wreck at the start, but I was very nervous.
Agreed. You couldn't tell any of Lou's problems at all.
I think we learned that my Internet link isn't up to the job of hosting an eight-way Skype conference call.
not if the router's switched off, no :)
The router was on, but the link went down. Fairly normal occurrence really.
That's very magnanimous of you Dan.
Quite a few people have been really nervous to start with but as far as I know everyone who has ever been on any show has enjoyed it once their nerves have settled.
I am still desperately trying to catch up with two weeks worth of lovely lovely comments and I still haven't yet worked out what I Spy is all about yet or what the doohicky is. All very exciting as I move forward in time (at a slow pace silly work getting in the way).
But what does seem to have happened is that the Sidepodpanel seems to be coming to an end which seems quite sad. And even more doubly sad is that the last episode is this Sunday because... I can't make it as I'm off to see Ben Folds in London's glittering Shepherds Bush (is glittering right here - Ed).
So sounds like I'm out of it unless the show can be tempted back for a second series!
It is absolutely coming back for a second series, although we can't promise when just yet.
We couldn't kill off the panel, not when it's so funny!
you're going to read every single comment?
This is the doohickey http://www.sidepodcast.com/realtime/
For reasons I can't remember we are playing I spy from the perspective of a member of the space station crew.
I was considering it. I've read every single comment (pretty much*) since about mid season.
But it has been taking a moment or two and well I'm quite behind. So I might have to give in. But sidepodcast is such a great community that you really can't tell what's going on from just the posts alone I don't think.
*I can't guarantee this obviously because I can't tell when somebody goes and writes a comment on an old thread.
Am I being a thicko or can you not comment on the doohicky?
I am being a thicko... I see it now!
You know what would be cool for the doohicky (sorry if somebody has said this before) keyboard shortcuts....
I'd like to be able to select up and down by pressing keys. Then a key for reply etc...
hence the doohickey.
no-one has, that's a good idea.
And the focus into the box after you press reply would be handy :)
Can you tell I'm back - complaining already ;)
if it helps, it works on the iphone (in safari, not natively).
ooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)
The new daily posts might help you a little, as they sum up the general conversation topics.

It really does work on the iPhone with quoting and everything :)
I shall make sure I read those then at the very least :)
i found some of the text a bit small, but it'll get there.
It's a bit fiddly because you kind of have to zoom in and then you have to zoom about. But yeah it just needs some small tweaks.
It really is great though :)
it really is alpha. lclt is way more stable atm.
I have just listened to the edit and I have to say superb job Christine. The sound is so much better than live.
I still haven't thought up a decent answer to Dan's last question.
