The second edition of the popular Sidepodpanel, and our inaugural episode with a guest host. Alex Andronov takes the helm and discusses the upcoming championship decider, plus green F1 and Kovi's future.
Joining us on tonight's panel:
There are plenty of topics up for grabs this week, including a throw in question from Scott Woodwiss, and there's even an impromptu engine impersonation competition. It would be a shame to miss out on our panelists fine efforts.

I have written a short post on the subject:

Oh no! It looks like i guessed the lenth of the podpanel by accident. My mysticism must have got confused...
nice one. i love that christine's been demoted to the carol vorderman role now :)
how the heck did the podpanel end up longer than the debrief?
Because there wasn't much to debrief upon?
I guess there was less to discuss about this week in the debrief, but lots of people discussing next week in the podpanel.
Plus, there was engine-gate. :)
Oi! Stop trying to get me in trouble! ;)
I wrote that sentence several times... At least I took out the word "crush"!
:)
Listening back I wonder what people think about the everyone answering every question format. I think the punchier answers people gave because they knew they were going round to everyone kept the pace up.
Who knows what Andy will do next week?
haha! just trying to deflect some of my wiki-gate pain in your direction ;)
it certainly seemed fairer and less random.
Absolutely! It seems only fair!
Have added Giggle-gate to the wiki.
I've only just noticed that 'me' is to blame for all five scandals. :)
oh jeez.
next week i shall be performing my podcasting role via the medium of mime :)
Inaudible-gate?
Considering you're never on camera.... could be a very strange podcast.
I would listen but I'm not sure I have the mime.
I really think we need Me to do something involving a gate so we can have gate gate :)
I just noticed Dom's addition to the "some say" section on Me's wiki page: http://sidepodcast.wetpaint.com/page/me
Me should be thankful that I changed the last question from my original final question: "Please discuss Stefano Domenicali's contribution to Ferrari using his name at least five times during your answer."
I decided that might be a bit *too* mean ;)
Ba-dum tishhh.
:D
We could have had prancing horse-gate, then.
I did wonder whether to put Donkey-Gate on there.
Ah, someone else has to do the Domenicali question when Me is next on. If he's ever allowed on the panel again.
So Christine is going to have to spend the whole show playing charades for the benefit of the audience
I think the delay was caused by a certain delay in answering a certain question by a certain person :)
Happy to be a part - this was a great laugh to record. Hopefully it was to listen as well :)
And yes I am fishing for compliments....
You should know you did well! Me asked you if you'd ever done this before!
Very well done!
You can really hear my accent.
Nice stuff.
We all did. I'm just happy to see that episode 2 lived up to episode 1 which was most excellent indeed.
If he went to work for a large dairy company it could be Unigate-gate...
Dropped a few pics (well, 100 to be exact) on drop.yo-yo
The trip to Lisbon was quite useful although I was stoned out of my mind because I went there straight from the night shift at a hotel. Not that I ever needed to use different substances to act weirdly but this time I felt as if I had been locked inside a dream, I got the camera setting wrong because I didn't realize what I was doing.
Then it turned out that in order to enjoy the show from the grandstands you had to (pre)order some kind of plastic bracelet via internet so I was left outside on the hill with other hundreds of thousands of unfortunate F1 lovers who suffered under 30º Celsius heat without free drinks and free food.
I'll complain to RF1 PP because it's outrageous that members of the Lion family are treated this way, nobody was waving a card with my name or introduced me to di Grassi. Scandal!
Anyway, it was fun but you sort of realize that they use F1 cars as live bait in order to sell new Megane and this hideous Koleos, but it seemed to work because family guys were absolutely drooling & licking this SUV crossover thing or whatever it's called.
You'll notice that some pics are not in colour but that was done on purpose, I hope each of you will find something interesting. Cheers, it's highly likely that I'll have internet later this evening at home so I'll drop by.
trulli yours,
the wombat
Baby food company?
Cow & Gate-gate
And if he worked for a gate company? :)
What with all the talk about money (or lack of it) of late, this may amuse:

So Stuart C any chance we might see you on the sidepodpanel one week?
You'll have to ask Mrs C. She's in charge of my weekends 'off'...
I have to say, I used to like sidepodcast but now, I really love it! The Sidepodpanel is the greatest thing that has happened to Sidepodcast. The shows are incredibly funny and entertaining but on a serious note, what it really showcases is the community sense of Sidepodcast. When I first started listening to Sidepodcast at the end of last season, I liked it as it was a source for F1 news and opinion by some very passionate people but now it is more a sense of belonging to the wider sidepodcast community. It first started with interviews, then quizzes and now a whole show where listeners can be involved in the content generating part and I don't think any other F1 site gives so much ability to its users.
I used to be one of those silent subscribers of sidepodcast who, although loved the podcasts, rarely participated in any way. But after seeing the strides that sidepodcast is making in trying to instill a sense of community, I will not remain silent any longer. I want to be part of this community too and tell everyone what a great job they are doing. I think it is safe to say that F1 fans can be divided in to two groups, those who belong to the sidepodcast community, and those who do not.
Did you, like me?
:D
What a fantastic comment! It's probably a bit rude to respond to a comment (of this nature) on someone else's site before the owners do themselves, but as a blogger myself, I couldn't help it because I know how much these comments mean. Big-up Sidepodcast.
Unigate-gate, Cow & Gate-gate...
...I come from a little town called Claygate, so if we could have a Claygate-gate, that'd be good.
That is all I have to say on the gate-gate scandals. :)
Y'know on itunes and podcasts, what does the little exclimation mark next to F1 Minute, cos I can't download the podcast?
if you try double clicking on the what does it say? I know that sometimes if i get very behind with podcasts (i listen to loads) it informs me that it has stopped updating them because I have not listened to them in awhile. Other times it will come up with 'podcast not found', which is easily solved by going onto the itunes store and downloading the episode again.
ShutThat-gate :D
sorry, been a bit remiss with the comments this evening. must catch up...
we're pioneering a new genre in podcasting.
oh my god wombat, that's freaking brilliant, thank you :)
good to see you're connected again.
cupcake?
good to hear monis. hopefully the fun and games will continue through the whole of the off-season too :)
wow, ummm, just wow.
not rude at all, am having a bit of a nightmare evening, so thank you monis and ollie, much appreciated.
it means i'm in a bit of a sweat desperately trying to migrate f1 minute away from our current web hosts as fast as my fingers will let me.
both of our sites have been down more than they've been up this past 24hrs and we just have to get as far away from mediatemple as humanly possible.
hoped to leave it until after the season was over because we really have better things to be doing during such a fantastic climax to the season, but i fear there may not be a website to come home to if we leave it any longer.
apologies for the disruption, we're trying our bestest :)
just watched the video, i see what you mean!
at least you still got be be up close and personal with the static display.
Speak up Monis! One of the great things about this group, is that you can participate just as much as you like. It took me a while to turn up in the forums as well. Initially for me it was just so I could understand what was happening in the races because I haven't learnt italian. And now I can't seem to turn myself away....
Sometimes I have to move 10 files from one server to another, and it's a pain so I cannot believe to comprehend what it's like for you to have to move so much across.
I really don't envy your job at all. But I really really appreciate it!
I hope it goes well :)
Cheers lou
Yeah, that was the only way to witness the event but I honestly found out about the roadshow on Friday when it was due to start on Saturday and I had no internet access which is a crime these days. Better luck next time.
I wonder if sidepodcast or Stuart C could appoint me as their official correspondent in Algarve during F1 testing, that way I could obtain a paddock pass and provide all parties concerned with valuable material for free... How 'bout that?
thing is, that damn girl keeps on talking :)
shifted 324MB of podcasts across last night. just some dns changes to do later today and i think we're sorted.
rf1pp must be the man for that, no?
I hope so, otherwise the podcast will be in mime!
Yeah, I'll see if it works, gotta get there in the heart of all the action... Paddock or bust!
First Eddie Jordan and now, god knows why, but Montoya is telling Lewis he needs to watch out for Massa in Brazil.
Juan is back: "And if I was Lewis, I wouldn't be anywhere close to him. If Felipe comes anywhere near him, I would let him by."
I don't get it. It's not like any Brazilian racing driver has ever driven into someone to win a title. ;)
All the news stories are now filling up with advice on what Lewis should be doing, or how he's feeling or what he's expecting or whatever. Norbert Haug has said that last year will not affect him, while Ross Brawn says he must trust his instincts.
PMSLMFAO! I swear to god I'm watching the ending of the National Television Awards, and I've never seen a funnier sight. The Stig was actually there! In his white race suit and helmet AND a white tuxedo jacket. It looks like he actually got up to get an award, maybe for Top Gear, because it showed him getting out of his seat. I just LOLed so loud :D
I missed it too, but apparently he got up on stage and gave a written speech to the person who was presenting him the award. :)
Risky stuff, considering what he last did when given an award. :D
awful quality, but..
http://www.you...m/watch?v=_Jo6O_4iguI
I missed it to since I was watching the Spurs v Arsenal match, but I saw them trying to interview him over on itv2, obviously, getting no response.
That was great stuff :)
The wonders one man can do to a team, eh R.G? :)
Oh yeah, but I think it was more down to spirit than Redknapp.
But I could kiss Lennon right now.
Now that's dedication. :)
:D
That was hilarious... Listening on my way home from work & actually LOLing is always a good look :)
Nice one
I would have nailed the last question as my wife can attest to...
Here's a video of that award acceptance by The Stig at the NTA. :D
